Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a volunteer with Making Waves Foundation (MWF), I agree to:
✅ Professional Conduct
- Act respectfully, responsibly, and in line with MWF values.
- Follow all instructions from MWF staff, skippers, and program leaders.
- Work cooperatively as part of the MWF team.
✅ Safety
- Follow all safety rules, briefings, and procedures.
- Use required safety equipment and avoid unsafe behaviour.
- Report hazards, incidents, or concerns immediately.
- Only take part in activities that I am physically and mentally fit to perform.
✅ Child Safety
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and act in the best interests of young people.
- Report any child safety or wellbeing concerns to MWF staff without delay.
✅ Training & Compliance
- Complete required induction, training, and assessments.
- Maintain required clearances (e.g. Working with Children Check).
- Communicate proactively if I cannot attend scheduled activities.
✅ Confidentiality & Privacy
- Keep MWF information, member details, and records confidential.
- Respect the privacy of participants, volunteers, and staff.
✅ Property & Media
- Use MWF equipment responsibly and return all materials when asked.
- Consent to photos or videos taken during activities being used for MWF purposes, unless I notify MWF otherwise.
✅ Representation
- Understand that I am not authorised to speak for, contract on behalf of, or represent MWF without approval.
✅ Participation
- Acknowledge that volunteering is unpaid and that MWF may end my involvement if safety, conduct, or compliance issues arise.
